Russians & North Koreans Don't Know Racers

No e-mail, forum, or blog is safe from spam.  As the "webmaster," sometimes my stats are padded by hits from Russian spam sites.  It causes no harm to my blog but irritates me nonetheless.  Spam comments happen on occasion too although the filter picks up most of them.  Generic stuff like, "Thank you for your blog.  That's all I have to say.  This was a very informative post full of great information.  http://shitty-spyware-site.com"  Most of these comments are so generic in nature that surely they were made by web bots.  But in this case, the bots become "sentient" and custom tailor their spam to the site at hand:

This was from the The Need For The Sense Of Speed post.  I am not making this stuff up.  Russian spammers actually "acknowledge" what my blog is all about.  And they even created a profile named "Ridge Racer" to go along with it.  What the hell is this???  So you're saying there's Russians eavesdropping on my blog finding ridiculous ways to usurp it by pretending to be a racing aficionado like me?

Somewhere my site is about to be hacked.
And when it goes down, it'll read...
"Need for Speed is better...slugheads."

Amateur Russian spammers need to get a frickin life and start contributing positively to society.  But there's more!  I only find stuff like by pure luck, glancing over YouTube, Reddit, etc.  Here's the very first video game to come out of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea...Pyongyang Racer, a free-to-play web browser driving game.

Play the game here.  Apparently it involves driving a slow sedan in a loop around Pyongyang, hitting petrol cans and checking out the landmarks & scenery.  Don't hit other traffic and don't stare at the police lady or you'll be thrown in a gulag.  The wonderful graphics and lack of traffic on the road capture the essence of North Korea's suckiness.  A valiant attempt at a racing game though, considering how North Korea uses The Hunger Games as a model for pretty much everything...hard to make a tight racing game when you're living in a police state.

Come on, North Korea.  I mean the Soviet Union sucked but at least it got s*** done...The Kremlin, WW2, AK-47's, vodka, nukes/Dr. Strangelove/War Games, bad guys for every Western FPS and James Bond movie, Spetsnaz with the ballistic knives,, sexy Russian accents, Sputnik/cosmonauts, numerous chess champions, Siberian huskies and domesticated silver foxes, Trololo Guy, and Tetris.  The best North Korea can do is a few failed missile tests, a bad racing game, inspiration for THQ's Homefront which sucked, delusional leaders obsessed with basketball, and a lousy YouTube channel and website (with a store to buy DPRK swag, yo).  Oh boy.  Go to bed already, people.

Hey Kids, STOP ALL THE DOWNLOADIN'...

Right now, I'm experiencing a lot of mental fatigue and I'm downloading this new Black Ops map pack so we'll see what that's like soon.

But first, the Supreme Court case.  So video games are an art form that are no longer persecuted by the government.  Or M-rated games can now be sold to minors in the state of California...I really don't understand what was the big deal by this...an EPIC WIN for gamers everywhere despite the fact we have much worse problems like the economy, the massive deficit, wars in the Middle East, etc.  Aren't kids already prohibited from buying M-rated games (in my state of Louisiana anyway)?  And so what--kids are always playing M-rated games like Call of Duty and Halo so it's not like their minds haven't been "infected" already.  Just get mommy and daddy to buy the games, problem solved...

I don't think the government should dictate what games can and cannot be made (yes, even Burnout).  Although this doesn't mean I don't frown upon ultra-violent/sexualized/other-questionable-material games (uh, Duke Nukem?  Rofl, well that's the Duke, that gets a pass...).  Happy games only...

------------

Oh, and right now, I'm checking my blog stats (don't worry, I'm not whoring hit counts here) and I see that I'm getting an abnormal amount of hits on my Cars 2 blog post, look at this:

For no reason at all, I'm getting an assload of Google Image views for one picture...this one.  Originally, I copied the url from the third-party website, then uploaded it to my blog, then removed it altogether.  I'M STILL GETTING HITS FOR A PICTURE I REMOVED FROM MY BLOG POST ALTOGETHER.

You might say, "Look at you!  You're getting tons of hits, you should be happy!"  Really, now how many people going through Google Image Search are going to stop and read what I have to say?  I'm going to try removing the pic from my Picasa album, maybe that'll solve things.

And to make matters more embarrassing, Cars 2 is turning out to be the biggest Pixar flop ever...33% on Rotten Tomatoes.  That's unheard of.  EDIT: Just like Nintendo producing a horrible Mario/Zelda game.  At least Cars 2 topped the weekend box office at $66 mil.  I haven't even seen it in theaters yet...I'm too lazy.  Cars is pulling a Duke Nukem...supposed to be great but no it sucks.  I want to talk more about that later.

------------

GREAT, now my XBL is just screwing with me again.  I can sign in any time I want, but I get signed out ten/fifteen seconds later.  While I'm halfway through downloading the new map pack.  This is horrible.  Maybe if I just keep mashing the "Connect to Xbox Live" button, it'll work (and make my name pop up on my friends' screens repeatedly)...

------------

One more thing.  This has to do with computer updates.  Last week, I got two Windows updates within a matter of a week.  So the computer always nags you--"When do you want us to remind you to restart your computer?" and I'm like NEVER!!  POSTPONE, POSTPONE, I restart my comp when I feel like it.

Every time it "reminds" you, it tries to restart the computer from under your nose.  EDIT: It still reminds you every ten minutes even if tell it to postpone for four hours.  As a matter of fact, I was in the middle of a chat with a Steam buddy and then my computer went through this self-initiated restart process (without telling me)....it started losing "focus" on the window so I had to keep clicking and getting off one letter at a time...something like "I think my computer is gonna restr (enter) r (enter) tt.."  as every single thing on my desktop disappeared one-by-one.  Just great.

And the updating process is so slow.  It's this blue screen that says "Installing 1 of 6 updates.  Please don't turn off your computer."  Alright, no big deal.  So the computer gets to the final update relatively quickly (in about 15 mins) so I'm thinking this last update will be quick.  NOPE.  My computer sits in the "Installing 6 of 6 updates" phase for about 8 to 12 hours...and there's NO indication of how close it is to completion.  I thought something was wrong with my computer and was about to manually power off the thing but it went "ding-a-ding-dong" late at night to indicate the computer had finished & restarted.  Both updates were the same.  Thanks, Microsoft, thanks.

And I also love how the computer has to restart over the most absurd updates...AVG?  Java?  Adobe Reader???  Now how many times have you used Adobe Reader recently?  I've only use it to read some .pdf attachments I've received in my e-mails.  And yet somehow the install has the gall to sneak in a little desktop icon every time like it's really that relevant.

TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY.  HOW FITTING WOULD IT HAVE BEEN TO TYPE UP THIS WHOLE POST IN CAPS CAUSE DAMN I'M REALLY PISSED OFF.  AND I HAVEN'T EVEN MENTIONED ALL THE Windows Account Alert! E-MAILS BUT THAT'S IT.  I'M GOING BACK TO SLEEP.  OH WAIT, DID THE BLACK OPS MAP PACK ACTUALLY DOWNLOAD?  WELL F*** IT I'M KILLING SOME SHANGRI-LA ZOMBIES!!!

SEGA'S BEEN HACKED And It's Important Enough To Make Front Pages (And Grid Sucks)

On the MSN homepage.  Yeah, right up there with J. Blo's titties.

EDIT: Oh, and there's this pic on CBS that's gone viral big-time (try to guess what's wrong here):

SEGA is just one of many companies that have been hacked recently.  This particular hack happened days ago.  According to this arbitrary BBC page, all that was taken was 1.29 million Sega Pass e-mail addresses, dates of birth, and maybe some passwords.  No credit cards.  Okay, congrats hackers.  You hacked Sega, the fat red-head kid in the playground.  You took candy from a baby who didn't have any in the first place.  You got some e-mails to hit up.  What now--more spam e-mail?  I'm terribly scared.  I mean, those Windows Account Alert! e-mails really provided me with enough nightmare fuel to stay up for days.  If I get another 400,000 GBP offer directly to my bank account, whoo boy, I'm gonna lose it.

TBQH, I don't even know what a Sega Pass is...so they got the password to my "Sega Pass."  Okay, as long as they don't friggin go around posting as me.  Sega already reset their passwords (which were encrypted BTW) and reacted very quickly, unlike Sony, lololol, so let's commend Sega in that regard.  And no, I don't use the same password on more than one account.  I only posted on the Sega board ten times in the last two years so what do I have to lose...

The funny thing is that the hackers behind the Nintendo & Sony attacks actually like Sega so they actually "get it"--this is what they had to say:

The hacker group Lulz Security, which has been involved in a number of high profile attacks, including one against Sega rival Nintento, has denied involvement in the Sega case.

Instead it showed some sympathy for the company on its Twitter feed.

"We want to help you destroy the hackers that attacked you. We love the Dreamcast, these people are going down," it said.

Warning to all Hackers: Kick His Ass, Seabass!!!

SELF-PITY AND DREAMCAST FTW!!!  It helped save Sega's life.  Okay, that may be an exaggeration, I can't wait to see the cops' beatdown on LulzSec's candy ass.  But, most importantly, hats off to SEGA for being important enough to being mentioned in the news!!!  SEGA VICTOLY!!!

------------

Oh yeah, one funny thing--GRID game servers are going down.  This is a game released in 2008 BTW.  I won't say much but if you read the comments in this Joystiq article, you see people losing their s*** over this, begging for dedicated servers and whatnot.  I foresaw this whole debacle going down before...do not doubt me.

Dumbest Scam E-mail I've Ever Seen?

I got this yesterday in my e-mail inbox.  Apparently the spam filter didn't pick up on it.  Oh man, if I don't reply to this e-mail soon, I'm screwed!  I feel like a dumbass having read this.

Send this jackass back to grade school cause with the grammar and crap visual appeal of this e-mail, he'd have the survival rate of a mosquito in the business world.  Yeah, I guess he learned from all the other jerks to throw in "We apologize for any inconvience," that really softens up the customers a bit.  Overall an F- in effort.  Click on the pic for larger size.

BUT WAIT, IT GETS BETTER....Crap Scam Email, the sequel!!

The big red text in the box is a marquee that scrolls to the left.  OOOOOOO, that really gets my attention, very professional...if this were 1998.  If I see this person out on the street, I'll rip his heart out of his chest and show it to his face before he dies so he can see how black it is...

And yes, I know there's probably worse e-mails out there (i.e. Nigerian prince thing), but this one at least "tries" to make you think otherwise.  I just feel like ripping these jerks a new one right about now. I'm just sick and tired of this crap.  Like my blood boils every time I think about this.

------------

Oh and while we're on the subject of "Dumbass Internet Crap," years ago I had to deal with another computer of mine getting an bunch of viruses and spyware because my brother insisted on playing stupid "free" online games like Adventure Quest and Graal or whatever.  I told him not to but he did it anyway.  Now he just sits around and plays World of Warcraft--at least that's spyware-free (I think).  These are some of the popups that kept appearing in my quest to save my computer so I decided to screenshot them and reveal them for the idiots they are:

Now you know how I feel, but for all the wrong reasons.

I love the irony how spam popups advertize spyware removers.  Would I trust this software to work?  As much as I'd trust a sex offender with my only child.

I'd rather be a hobo hanging out down by the Shell gas station than an airhead Hollywood celebrity so no thanks.

And I could insert a billion "Free Smiley" ads here too.  They all look like ass to begin with so why would I care?  And Ebony, with all your cleavage shots, go play in traffic with Active Enterprises too, I'm serious.  I hate all of you guys.

------------

You know what.  Right now, I've dealt with enough spam, spyware, viruses, e-mails, and other garbage that to be quite honest, I have no tolerance for this crap anymore.  Computers are supposed to be treated like a good thing, but we've got crap like this going on which just insults all of our intelligence, so you should be pissed too.  And there's the reason why I don't allow ads on this blog!  Because I'm sick and tired of looking at this crap wherever I go (yes, they're Google ads but still)!  And yes, there's devices that you can download to get rid of this crap.  I'm gonna take care of that later.

This is a dumb article but I don't care, I'm letting out some frustration.
