I recently saw this footage for the new Trackmania game. I've never played such a game before, but looking at the footage, it's really slick and look like fun. I like the way the track is really packed in there with tons of highways, Rush-style quarter-pipes, and parking garages. Yes, a next-gen racer I don't hate.
I notice two things about the trailer that I don't like. One, there's not enough green--the name of the game is "Trackmania Canyon (Squared?)" which really sucks since it would be cool to run through other environments such as the jungle or tundra (well, that's what prequels are for). The brownish tint gets to me after a while. Second, the car rides way too smooth as if it's sort of glued to the track. The ride doesn't feel rickety--it just feels like you're hovering over the pavement.
I did see this other game called GTR 2. This is a 2006 PC game. There was supposed to be a game like this on the Xbox 360, but it was canceled. Anyway, just looking at the car interior is neat. The car feels like it actually responds to physics--it bobs and shakes all over the place. That's what makes a good racing game stand out from a great one. Sega racing games do this...
Ride height, what's that?
Woah, check out the Daytona USA Trackmania cars. And that's all I gotta say here. It's brief but I don't feel like saying much.

Daytona USA Fan Art
Do you like fan art? Sure you do! Well, here's some pics I found off the infamous art site, deviantArt...here we go. Remember to click on the pics to enlarge them. I'm only posting Daytona pics now--I'll post the rest later (don't want too many pics in one post). And these aren't all the fan cars I posted earlier, this is...you know, actual artwork. EDIT: Also see OutRun fan art and Crazy Taxi & Sega Rally fan art.
Already seen these before, but this is a fine-looking wallpaper I might add.

Nice, another fan-made Hornet. This one's for Nascar Racing 2003. It's NOT part of the Daytona Universe project. There's plenty of Hornets here and there so please forgive me if I missed some...

Yeah, Scud Race cars. These are for Forza 2 but I saw ones relatively identical in Forza 3 marketplace...look for them yourself.
Ok, gotta draw the line there. Hope you enjoyed some fan art...now write me some fan fiction, losers. Also check out Daytona fan cars for: Nascar Racing 2003, Forza 1, Trackmania, or even my Daytona 2 Forza 3 cars. ADIOS.

Daytona USA Cars: Trackmania Nations Edition
No, I didn't make these, but I found these Daytona skins on deviantArt. Kind of like my old post on the "Daytona USA Universe" cars I mentioned before. Anyway, take a look:
I like how they got the JC Eagle down although the Daytona 2 guide book I scanned doesn't have any pics of it. Really good heads-up detail right there, although it's practically the same as the Chums Gum except for a few decals, lol.
These are from batfanx29 on deviantArt. If you go on his account and request the skins enough, he'll release them. Some of them are already out. So just go ahead and check it out.
------------
Also, as a nice little bonus, here's the Hornet and Phantom cars for Nascar Racing 2003:
Check these out at tkkda's deviantArt page. Like the TMN cars, I don't know if these are up on some site to download. I didn't see any links for these. Anyway, go to his profile and ask if you like.
...
Really, it's just stellar how ever since I got that Daytona 2 guide scans of mine out there for people to see, there has been this influx of Daytona 2 related fan stuff...nice. I don't say this to brag cause I got little props for my work anyway. Just saying it's something good to see. Oh, I'm gonna go ahead and put a link to that Photobucket album under "My Stuff" on the right just cause it's that important.
There's probably more fan stuff like this that I'll find later.
