The STATS Are A Lie

I'm looking at the "Stats" tab on my Blogspot and the numbers and here's what I got for JUST the last week:

33 hits from Italy?
32 hits from Turkey?
27 hits from Russia?
29 hits by Firefox (I use IE, shame on me)?
9/11 Post, 16 hits?
Ten Bad Driving Games, 13 hits?
New Orleans Saints Post, 10 hits?

The amount of hits on the "Stats" tab differ from the broken hits counter...  So are there people from across the world who REALLY are interested in what I have to say or are these bots running around looking for blogs to infect?  I checked the amount of spam messages I got in the spam filter and I only got one.  Referring URLs are just a bunch of Google Images.  So I don't know what's going on.

Surprisingly no hits from Japan.  PLEASE SEGA COME TO MY WEBSITE AND HEAR MY CRIES FOR HELP!!

But anyway, thanks to all my actual readers...I really appreciate it.

  1. I don't give in TOO much to Blogger/Blogspot stats. I get a lot of traffic from around the world. My FEEDJIT feed alone usually tells who all visits my site and from where. Becaues of this, I want to believe the stats I do get. Some of my most popular blog entries easily get 100 or 200 (sometimes well over 200) views in one day. The confusing part is in how many blog views I get in a day. Sometimes, it will say that I got 3K views from the previous day. Some other times, my blog hits for the current day is usually about 200 or 500 depending upon what time of day it is. It's CERTAINLY confusing, but I wouldn't call it a lie, dude. Then too, I get so much traffic (but some others get MUCH more) that I can't really get a definite grip on how well my material is being viewed.

  2. Part of it tells me that it's true (certain blog entries getting a lot of hits) while another part says it's fraudulent (bunch of readers from Italy and Russia...wouldn't they prefer sites that are in Italian or Russian?) but I don't know. The broken hits counter is the only thing I've really got. And I don't know how to get any other "hit-checking" mechanisms up--it just seems pointless anyway. Makes me sound like a narcissist.
