This is nice. Jalopnik (the car blog) ran a poll asking what are the coolest 16-bit cars of gaming. Here's the games with the Top 10 cars according to the users:

Might I remind you that I contributed nothing to the votes. Lessseeee here...you got Nintendo juggernauts Mario Kart & F-Zero. And then here comes Outrun and Virtua Racing (the GENESIS version, remind you) which top 'em. Well done, voters!!! Cartoon go-karts and space racers may be interesting in a fantasy setting, but in the end, it's all about the work of modern artisans and technicians that hits the pavement...
